Tettenhall Wood School provides education for 71 pupils with severe/complex learning difficulties, the majority of whom also have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Pupils attend school from throughout the City and are age 5-19. As part of the Local Authority’s vision for SEN provision in Wolverhampton. Tettenhall Wood School is the designated school for pupils with ASC and will increase in capacity to 90 pupils in September 2013. The School is a designated Specialist School for Communication and Interaction.
In September the school moved into a new purpose built building which has been designed to cater effectively for the needs of our pupils. The building is very spacious and has a number of specialist rooms including a state of the art Swimming Pool Area, Sensory Gym, Interactive Learning Area and excellent outdoor facilities. Staff are enthusiastic, conscientious and committed to providing pupils with appropriate learning experiences. Staff at all levels work effectively together to create a supportive environment in which everyone is valued and provided with opportunities to promote professional development.
